There is a solution in our future.
After years of increased homelessness state wide the California Legislature has allocate 500 million dollars to shelter and housing the homeless so that they may focus on building a better life.
Santa Cruz County has received 10.6 million in HEAP funds and will:
Buy land for a year round 24 hour Navigation Center and a separate Day Center.
Fund more caseworkers to assist help adults and youth obtain housing.
Increase hygiene services and a bunch more...
has received funds to help run the SafeSpaces program and expand the existing Rotating Shelter to new sites, and to buy and operate a shower trailer.
